Welcome to the Texas Nurses Association
District 9 website.

We encourage Registered Nurses to join TNA District 9 to help be the voice for Professional nursing.   The district supports nurses and professional nursing practice across eight Texas counties - Harris, Walker, Waller, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Trinity, Liberty and Fort Bend. The District endeavors to promote the professional development of nurses, to foster high standards of nursing practice, and to improve health care services for all people.

Locally, TNA District 9 sponsors many exciting programs that educate and recognize nurses. During our Nursing Celebration Gala each year, we honor twenty nurses for their professional contributions. Additionally, we present scholarships to nursing students and award research grants to nurses engaged in research important to nursing practice and patient well-being. Educational needs of District 9 members are supported throughout the year at membership meetings with select topics and continuing educational credits.

TNA District 9 also works diligently at the state level to positively influence nursing in Texas. We have contributed to the Texas Department of Health promotion of sound patient care models. TNA District 9 members have successfully lobbied for several initiatives that affect nursing practice in Texas. These efforts support our mission to promote excellence in nursing and provide quality patient care.

Nurses have a profound effect on community and individual well-being. When we recognize and accept the importance of our influence on others, the results of our efforts expand exponentially. Both individually and collectively, we have a powerful voice; we hope that you will add your voice to ours so that we can lead the way in defining gold standard health care in Texas!
